Updated: Apr 19, 2020
The NFL Free Agency is a period in the NFL when players who are at the end of their contract and looking for a new team or when a player contract is up and looking for a new one from their current team. There are also players who don't have contracts and available for contracts.
There are hundreds of Free agents available this off season and free agency has been very interesting. I would say the biggest pick up of them all would be Tom Brady Leaving the New England Patriots after 20 seasons and joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Another interesting trade during this free agency period would be Tod Gurley one of the best running backs in the NFL being released from the Rams, and joining the Atlanta Falcons.
There are many more notable trades and pick ups for example Philip Rivers Quarterback for the LA Chargers being at the end of his contract and joining the Indianapolis Colts. Cam Newton superstar quarterback being released and he hasn't been picked up yet by a Team.
In free agency you can get released and not get picked up by any team because the teams may not have cap room or not want you because you have a bad review with your other team. Additionally, in the NFL there are just bad times where some players may not get picked up because the draft is going on and they may want to go young or they just haven't decided if they may need a specific position.
