SAAC Trick or Treat

By Audrey Helfrich

Is it a trick or treat? There is only one way to tell on Halloween as the students of Olivet College and the town of Olivet enjoy the night. On Oct. 31 the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted a trick or treat, the event took place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Mott Academic Center.

“SAAC put this event together to bond with the community,” said SAAC Vice President, Rose Kemmerling.

The event was open to all ages; kids came dressed up in different creative costumes to show off to the Olivet College athletes. There was a long line of tables set up in the Mott Academic Center as at least one member from each athletic team was there to hand out candy to the trick or treaters.

The athletes also dressed up to enjoy the spirit of Halloween as they passed out candy. Their costumes ranged from M&M’s, a hippie, an inflatable man, and a referee.

“I like the event because I like seeing all the little kids dressed up in their cute costumes,” said senior Sydnie Weller.

SAAC has an upcoming red out event for the football game on Nov. 16 that everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in.
