Since the first time I sat down with a bag of popcorn and watched the movie "The Great Gatsby," the soundtrack has been stuck in all my playlists. "Young and Beautiful" by Lana Del Rey and "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody" by David Listenbee are two key songs in an incredible film score from Baz Luzhrman's film. These two songs are so different yet when listened to in sequential order have a beautiful effect on the emotions.
Lana Del Ray does a brilliant job in her song, her voice perfectly fits the meaning being depicted. When listening to the song without context or the movie to guide you, you can still feel the strong emotion and story being told. The other song is in one of the upbeat scenes in the movie, "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody" is a combination of artists and dubstep to create a brilliant rhythm. The beginning beat alone gets your body moving and puts a smile on your face.
